The new Eiger Express Pipeline in Texas is being upgraded, with capacity increasing from 2.5 billion cubic feet per day to 3.7 billion cubic feet per day.
The pipeline will be operated by Austin-based infrastructure company WhiteWater. Despite the changes, the project is still planned to be operational by mid-2028. To achieve this higher capacity, they will be increasing the mainline pipe from 42” to 48”.
Once in service, Eiger Express will transport natural gas from the Permian Basin in West Texas to the Katy area.
Reliable gas capacity is becoming critical all across the country, but especially in Texas. Access to land and resources has made the Lone Star State a prime location for data centers and other large load industries.
