Banks have rallied behind nuclear energy expansion at Climate Week NYC 2024.
Fourteen major financial institutions, including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, have announced their support for the United Nations COP28 declaration to triple global nuclear energy capacity by 2050.
Other supporters include Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Ares Management Corporation, Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Brookfield, Crédit Agricole CIB, Guggenheim Securities, Rothschild & Co., Segra Capital Management LLC and Societe Generale.
Nuclear made up 19% of total energy produced in the US last year, and has been the country’s largest source of clean energy for many years. With growing support, maybe we can see this number rise even further in years to come.
