Power generation company Invenergy is planning to build their 15th natural gas project to combat soaring electricity demand in the U.S.
The new facility, Foundry Ridge, will be based in Wisconsin. The company already has 6 GW of natural gas in their portfolio that they have built over the past 22 years.
But generation is only a part of the solution. America’s grid also needs a major upgrade.
We need to focus on interregional transmission infrastructure in order to bring energy to where it’s needed most. This will not only ensure that our energy supply is reliable, but that it is affordable.
