Entergy’s Data Center Pipeline at 7 – 12 GW, up by 2 GW from Previous Quarter

Entergy’s recent third quarter earnings call shows that data centers are still on the rise, with its pipeline now between 7 – 12 GW, up by 2 GW from the previous quarter.

Entergy has also secured 4.5 GW of power generation equipment this quarter to support large load additions.

Overall, the utility plans to spend $41 billion through 2029 on new projects and infrastructure. They hold current agreements with large load customers like Google and Meta, which will drive significant energy demand through 2029.

This includes the recently announced Meta 2 GW campus in Louisiana, which will be powered by three combined-cycle gas plants and up to 1.5 GW of solar.

Entergy operates in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. These regions are seeing huge increases in commercial and industrial customers, which make up 69% of Entergy’s total sales. Louisiana is seeing the highest growth.
