Oil & gas giant Chevron is getting into the data center market, with plans to develop and power facilities across the U.S.
Right now, the company is entering permitting and engineering phases for several sites throughout the country.
The company is targeting locations with 1GW of capacity, which will begin operation in 2027 or 2028. Instead of connecting to the grid, these data center facilities will be powered by onsite natural gas generation.
This is yet another example of how natural gas is being deployed to power the AI revolution.
