Carlyle Group Targets Data Centers as Solar Customers in Arizona

Carlyle Group is targeting AI-focused data centers as key customers for their new solar power farms in Arizona.

Copia Power, Carlyle’s renewable energy arm, is working on several projects. The first of which is a $2 billion, 1.5-gigawatt solar and storage project near Phoenix.

This could be a solution for the many tech companies in the region seeking low carbon electricity. Copia Power bypasses traditional utilities and connects clean energy directly with companies, offering a quicker, more efficient path to clean energy integration.

As we know, there is now a huge and growing energy demand from AI. By planning energy farms ahead of this demand, Carlyle can provide cheaper clean power for tech companies and better returns for themselves.
