QTS Data Centers has announced a brand new data center campus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
With a $10 billion investment, the data center will be the largest economic project ever developed in not only the city’s history, but in the entire state’s.
The campus will be constructed on 612 acres of land within the Big Cedar Industrial Center and will include 7 data center buildings.
The project is being developed in partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids and Alliant Energy. It will include efforts to reduce environmental impact through carbon-free energy sources and QTS’s water-free cooling technology. This novel method saves 4 billion gallons of water each year compared to traditional evaporation cooling.
This project is a great step for the region, promoting innovation, investment, and growth.
