SeaO2, an Amsterdam-based startup focusing on carbon removal from seawater, has raised €2M in funding.
SeaO2 utilizes electrochemical processes to extract CO2 from sea water, returning carbon-free water to the ocean to enhance CO2 absorption.
The company plans to remove 1 megaton of CO2 by 2030 and 1 gigaton by 2045.
Investors include DOEN Participaties B.V., NEW-TTT fund, Future Tech Ventures, CarbonFix, angel investors Eduard Talman and Siddharth Kambe, and others.
The funds will support scaling operations, enhance team capabilities, and build a comprehensive monitoring system.
