LS Power recently raised $2.7 billion for its fifth energy infrastructure fund, surpassing its $2.5 billion target.
This capital will be used to invest in a range of power and energy infrastructure assets, platforms, and companies across North America.
The firm has already committed $1.6 billion from this fund across renewable and gas-fired generation, renewable fuels, and green hydrogen. Notable investments include the acquisition of renewable energy business Algonquin Power & Utilities, which includes 3 GW of operating projects and a 8 GW development pipeline.
As the U.S. energy sector faces growing demand for electricity—driven by electrification, data center growth, and a resurgence in American manufacturing—LS Power is in a good position to drive forward the energy transition while ensuring the reliability and affordability of power.
