GE Vernova has announced a $41 million investment in its Schenectady facility to build out more gas capacity.
Funding will funnel into the company’s Center of Excellence for steam and generator assembly and testing. It will aid in the manufacturing of H65 and H84 generators, GE Vernova’s most efficient gas turbines.
Fifty new jobs will be added to the facility to help meet growing global demand for energy. New York’s Excelsior Jobs Program is also contributing an additional $1 million towards the project.
Since 2023, GE Vernova has pledged $130 million in investments in Schenectady. Across the country, it had also announced $720 million in investments and 1,800 new jobs over the next two years.
Investments like this are necessary if we want to remain competitive when it comes to emerging technologies like AI. We must find a way to fill our growing energy gap.
