Energy Transfer LP will soon be sending more gas out west to help close the growing energy gap.
The company has reached a positive financial investment decision (FID) for the expansion of its Transwestern Pipeline, intending to supply more natural gas throughout Arizona and New Mexico from the Permian Basin.
This additional supply is key in meeting long-term rising demand from data centers and other high-tech industries.
The Desert Southwest pipeline expansion project will be 516 miles long and include nine compressor stations in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The pipeline will cost approximately $5.3 billion and have a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d).
The project is expected to come online at the end of 2029 and will increase energy reliability throughout the Southwest United States. This is just one of the latest projects promoting America’s tech and manufacturing future.
