ECP (Energy Capital Partners) is planning to build a $5 billion data center in Pennsylvania through its energy business Calpine.
The campus will be located in York County at Calpine’s York 2 Energy Center. The gas turbine power station currently has 828 MW of capacity.
The project was announced as part of a larger $90 billion investment plan in Pennsylvania technology development, which includes several data center and energy companies.
This is yet another example of recent data center growth. We are seeing large investments in digital infrastructure and related energy projects all across the country.
