Pyka, an electric aircraft developer, has raised $40 million in Series B funding.
The company is focused on autonomous electric aircraft for agricultural, commercial cargo, and defense applications. Pyka’s aircraft include the Pelican Spray for crop protection and Pelican Cargo for long-range transportation. The latter can transport up to 400 lbs for up to 200 miles.
The investment will help scale production and support both U.S. and international operations. Current customers include names like Dole, Embraer, Sierra Nevada Company, Heinen Brothers Agra Services, and Skyports Drone Services. The company has also delivered three aircraft to the U.S. Air Force for the Agility Prime program.
