Crusoe Raises $600M for Sustainable Data Centers

Crusoe, a data-center startup optimizing for sustainable AI, has just secured $600 million in their Series D—pushing their valuation to $2.8 billion. The round was led by Founders Fund and included strategic investors like NVIDIA, Fidelity, and Mubadala (a UAE sovereign wealth fund). With this latest raise, Crusoe’s total funding now stands at $5.2 billion.

Why is this important? By 2030, AI could account for 3% to 4% of total global power demand. That’s enough consumption to make AI’s electricity use equal to that of countries like Russia or Japan.

Crusoe’s data centers are purpose-built for AI, using optimized infrastructure and renewable energy to deliver sustainable compute power. The company has over 15 gigawatts of projects in development globally. Their project in Abilene, Texas will be one of the largest high-performance computing clusters in the world when complete, at 1.2 gigawatts.

There is a growing relationship between AI, clean energy, and infrastructure innovation—a trend that’s clearly defining the future.
