Brookfield and Microsoft to Develop 10.5GW of Renewables

Brookfield Renewable and Microsoft have entered into a strategic partnership to develop over 10.5 GW of new renewable power. That’s almost eight times bigger than the largest single corporate PPA ever signed. This partnership shows a significant commitment from both companies to grow their sustainable energy capacities and support global decarbonization efforts.

The initiative is a step toward Microsoft’s ambitious sustainability goals. The company plans to have 100% of its electricity matched by zero carbon energy purchases by 2030. By combining Microsoft’s influence and Brookfield’s renewable expertise, this project will help diversify global energy grids and set a precedent for future corporate renewable partnerships.

As the demand for cleaner energy solutions grows, such collaborations could really help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
