Avnos Raises $36 Million for DAC and Water Capture Hybrid Tech

Avnos, a Los Angeles based startup focused on direct air capture technology, has raised $36 million in Series A funding. The round was led by NextEra Energy Resources.

This investment will support Avnos’ development of a hybrid system that not only captures CO2 from the air but also harvests water, utilizing a novel approach created at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Lab. This funding could accelerate commercialization of DAC technology.

DAC is a viable solution for addressing emissions from hard-to-decarbonize sectors, and aligns with growing interest in carbon capture solutions following the Inflation Reduction Act.
